This 4-month program is structured to guide participants through a mix of teaching sessions, co-writing opportunities, networking events, and industry training, all culminating in a live writing camp. The goal is to equip songwriters with the tools, connections, and confidence to excel in the music industry.
The program begins with Finding and Reconnecting with Your Spark/Passion, where participants reflect on their earliest connections to music. They create a Spotify playlist of inspiring songs and use it throughout the first week to reignite creativity.
During the first two weeks, participants engage in short video lessons and one-on-one sessions to discuss their goals and dreams. Videos cover topics such as:
● Accountability
● The 103-Day Video Journey
● "Um’s and Ah’s": Embracing authentic video creation
● Body and Mind Series: Mindset, physical health, and sleep
● Creative Space and Focus
● Building Foundations
● Dreams and Vision Mapping: Articulating and acting on your aspirations
● Perspective: Viewing challenges from multiple angles
● Networking and Communication
● Readiness and Simplicity
Participants begin making daily video journals about their journey to foster group connection. This continues throughout the program, helping participants track their progress and engage with peers.
Co-writing is central to the program, with four sessions spread over the 4 months:
● Co-Write 1: Starts in Week 3 and lasts for three weeks. Participants work in teams and bring their songs to weekly Song Clinics for feedback and evaluation.
● Co-Write 2: Starts in Week 7 after A&R feedback, with similar weekly check-ins.
● Co-Write 3: Begins in Week 11, after niche market training sessions.
● Co-Write 4: The final session, which overlaps with preparation for the Live Writing Camp in the last month.
Networking is a vital skill, and the program includes:
● Networking Etiquette Training: A session focused on how to network effectively.
● Monthly Networking Events: Opportunities to connect with industry professionals, signed writers, and former mentees.
Participants learn to think like an A&R professional through two focused sessions:
● A&R Part 1 (Week 5): Participants are introduced to leads and briefs and tasked with submitting songs for evaluation. They also act as A&R, considering how to "sell" their songs.
● A&R Part 2 (Week 6): Participants rank submitted songs Eurovision-style and receive feedback on the process, gaining insight into the judgment and selection process.
Special sessions cover unique industry opportunities:
● Belgium’s Music Market (Week 8): Exploring regional trends and opportunities.
● EDM and Toplining (Week 9): Focused on crafting toplines for the EDM market.
● K-Pop (Week 10): Insights into this fast-growing and distinct music industry segment.
In the final month, the program concludes with a 3-Day Live Writing Camp in England. Participants gather at professional studios to collaborate intensively, applying everything they’ve learned.
● Weeks 1–2: Teaching sessions, individual goal-setting, and the start of the daily video journey.
● Weeks 3–5: Co-Write 1 and weekly Song Clinics.
● Weeks 6–7: A&R Training and feedback, followed by Co-Write 2.
● Weeks 8–10: Niche market sessions, Networking Events, and Co-Write 3.
● Weeks 11–16: Co-Write 4 and preparation for the Live Writing Camp, culminating in the 3-day intensive session.
Participants will leave the program with:
● Comprehensive songwriting and music business knowledge.
● Practical experience navigating the industry.
● A network of collaborators and mentors.
● Confidence and clarity in their craft.
● 7 professionally produced songs ready for pitching.
● The skills and connections to thrive in the competitive music industry.
The program concludes with the end of the 103-Day Video Journey, and participants are encouraged to stay connected and continue collaborating beyond the program.
